Does Aireo cover MCS compliance?

Yes. Aireo generates MCS 031 System Performance Estimates, MCS 020 Noise Assessments and Heat Pump Standard MIS 3005-D Design compliant documents.

Can I manage my projects and documents in one place?

Yes, Aireo’s Project Hub provides a single, searchable place for all your projects and associated paperwork.

How does Survey work?

Survey allows you to quickly capture site details for heat pump installations, including noise assessment information and data required for heat loss calculations.

What kind of design support does Aireo offer?

Aireo’s Design feature takes heat loss calculations, suggested heat pump and cylinder sizing, and helps create MIS 3005-D compliant system designs.

Can I try Aireo for free?

Yes, you can get full access to Aireo for 30-days on a free trial - no credit card is required. During the trial, you can add as many team members as you need.

What happens at the end of the 30-day free trial?

At the end of the 30-day trial period you will need to subscribe to a paid plan. Paid plans are charged based on the number and type of user seats (Office or Surveyor) you have in your Workspace.

Can I add team members during the free trial?

Yes. During the 30-day trial, you can invite as many team members as you like to test out Aireo’s collaborative features.

Do I need to provide payment details for the free trial?

No, card details are not required to start the 30-day free trial.

What are the subscription options and costs after the trial period?

Aireo offers two seat-based plans:

• Office seat (£35/month + VAT):** Includes Project Hub features (project archive, property thermal data, MCS 031 estimate).
• Surveyor seat (£75/month + VAT):** Includes all Office seat features PLUS Survey features (site detail capture, noise assessment, heat loss calcs) and Design features (MCS 3005 docs, system sizing).

Workspaces

What is a Workspace in Aireo?

A Workspace contains your projects and team within Aireo. Your subscription plan and billing are linked to a Workspace.

How can I add team members?

Workspace owners can add team members by visiting the members tab under ‘Workspace settings’. Adding team members may require you to purchase additional seats.

Can I have multiple Workspaces?

Yes, you can create or be a part of multiple Workspaces. Each Workspace has its own subscription and billing.

How do I start a new project in Aireo?

In your Workspace, click ‘Add new’, enter the postcode, pick the address - Aireo pulls in the initial property data for you.

What kind of project information can I store?

You can store property and survey data, project-specific details e.g. homeowner contact information, and any useful notes (e.g. presence of pets, parking availability, accessibility considerations).

MCS 031 Performance Estimate

What is the MCS 031 Performance Estimate feature in Aireo?

This feature guides you through a survey to generate a MCS 031 compliant performance estimate for proposed heat pump systems.

Can I download the MCS 031 Performance Estimate?

Yes, Aireo displays the MCS 031 compliant Performance Estimate results on screen and allows you to download or share a PDF.

Exterior Survey

What is the purpose of the Exterior Survey in Aireo?

The Exterior Survey helps you confirm the property's construction details and suitability for a heat pump when you are on site. It also allows you to verify and update information about the building's fabric (walls, windows, floors, roof).

Noise Assessment

What is the Noise Assessment feature for?

The Noise Assessment feature guides you through the steps required to ensure your proposed heat pump installation complies with UK noise regulations (including MCS 020).

What is the output of the Noise Assessment?

Aireo calculates the maximum allowed sound power level (in dB(A)) for the heat pump. It shows the breakdown for every assessment position, including the distance and the calculated noise reduction from any barriers.

Interior Survey & Heat Loss Data

What is the purpose of the Interior Survey?

The Interior Survey guides you through the steps required to capture information about each room in the property, including dimensions, construction materials, features (like windows and radiators), and how rooms connect (adjacencies). This data is essential for accurate heat loss calculations needed for system design.

How does Aireo handle construction materials and U-values in the survey?

During the Interior Survey, you select the construction materials for walls, floors, ceilings, windows etc. from pre-defined options. Aireo uses this information, along with dimensions and adjacencies, to determine the appropriate thermal properties needed for the heat loss calculations.

Can I specify features like windows, doors, and existing radiators during the Interior Survey?

Yes. When detailing walls, floors, or ceilings within a room, Aireo allows you to add specific features like windows and doors, and input their dimensions. You can also add details about existing emitters (radiators), specifying their type and dimensions, and details such as pipework.

How is the information from the Interior Survey used?

Information collected during the Interior Survey is used by Aireo to perform an in-depth, room-by-room heat loss calculation. This calculation forms the basis for the system design stage.

Design Phase & System Specification

What happens after I complete the Interior Survey?

Once the detailed room-by-room data is captured in the Interior Survey, you move to the Design stage. Here, Aireo uses the calculated heat loss information to help you specify the heat pump system, analyse its performance, and ensure adequate heating emitters (like radiators) are selected for each room.

How does Aireo help with radiator sizing?

Aireo flags any rooms where existing or proposed emitters are undersized to meet the required calculated heat-loss requirement. This allows you to identify where larger radiators or additional emitters might be needed.

Performance Estimates & Reporting

Can I download the reports generated in the Design phase?

Yes, you can download all project data for your records, including the MCS 3005 Performance Estimate and the MCS 020 Noise Assessment report. These documents can be used for compliance records and shared with the homeowner.

Can I see previous versions of estimates or assessments?

Yes, previous versions of these reports with dates are saved with each project, allowing you to track changes or revisions made during the design process.

Are there any specific operating system (iOS/Android) or web browser requirements?

No, Aireo is web-based and works on all the main browsers and operating systems.

Can Aireo be used in other scenarios e.g. Ground Source or commercial properties?

Aireo is designed specifically for residential Air Source Heat Pumps.

What if a specific building material, construction type, or feature I encounter isn't listed in the survey options?

If a specific construction material isn’t listed, you can create your own, or select the material with the nearest U-value.

Does Aireo work offline?

No, Aireo requires an internet connection.
